2010 Range Rover Technologically Robust

2010 Range RoverLand Rover is known for being among the top luxury SUV options and for its off-roading prowess.  Meet the 2010 Range Rover, who is adding to the list by offering tantalizing technology seamlessly interfaced-a truly modern stance.

Yes, the best SUV just got a little better.   There are 6 cameras total, and the dashboard is one big LCD screen.  For all the “techies” out there, it is truly a geek’s dream come true.  And I say that with all due respect; as I myself am quite the tech geek…don’t judge me.

Appearance wise, the changes are hard to detect from afar, as they are slight (no need to completely alter perfection).  The grille has been revised, and there are LEDs around the head and taillights.  The side gills are modified with LEDs that act as turn signals and there are fog lights that scale the front bumper down to the sides of the air intake.   It looks modern and mean, ruggedly cool.

Enough about the beauty pageant, the 2010 Range Rover is still a serious SUV.  All 2010 Range Rover models will be fitted with a new direct-injection 5.0-liter V8 engine capable of kicking out 375 horsepower.   Supercharged models share the 5.0-liter engine block, but also receive an intercooled sixth-generation Eaton blower that blasts it up to 510 horsepower.   Both engines are mated to a ZF 6-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive.
Fuel efficiency has been increased, because the torque converter is able to lock up earlier due to the increase in power from the 5.0-liter engine.

Everyone knows that off-roading is maybe the second main deciding factor in purchasing a Range Rover.  Improvements in the area of off-roading for 2010 include:

•    Terrain Response system now has a launch control program for starting the SUV in the sand, limiting wheel spin
•    Revisions to Rock Crawling Mode
•    Improved Hill Descent Control
•    Gradient Release Control prevents the SUV from gathering speed too quickly once the driver has released the brakes on a steep incline

It certainly appears that Range Rover has stepped it up in the technology department this year, and we like what we are seeing.  For more information on Range Rover, Land Rover rentals and luxury SUV rentals, follow links.
