Another Ferrari 250 GTO Crash

In 2010 we covered a very expensive car crash involving a Ferrari 250 GTO–and the tragedy has struck yet another glorious example of the rare model! Recently, a 1962 250 GTO suffered severe damage during a road rally in France. The car was one of just 39 examples created–a slice of true brand history that can hopefully be repaired!

While many rare exotic vehicles are carefully preserved in climate controlled security cells and rarely ride the open road, owner Christopher Cox happily drove his classic Ferrari to the 50th anniversary rally to commemorate the beloved GTO badge. According to reports, the 250 GTO collided with a privately owned vehicle, damaging the car and injuring Cox and his wife (they are both set to make a speedy recovery). The inhabitants of the other vehicle involved were also injured and will make a full recovery.

Thus far, both photos of the crash and an exact dollar amount in damages are not available. In the past, Ferrari 250 GTO models have sold for 28-35 million USD, depending on condition and chassis.
