Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Special Editions See Black and White

Aston Martin is planning to make the 2014 Geneva Motor Show a white tie event with carbon special edition DB9 models in black and white. The Aston Martin DB9 Carbon special edition cars will feature the same powertrain, but be dressed to the nines in luxurious black or white with glorious carbon fiber.

As for the design cues for the black and white carbon edition cars, Aston Martin describes the inspiration and overall effect as “visual drama”. I would agree.

While Aston Martin has released a black carbon fiber DB9 previously (2010), the pairing with the white version should look exquisite on stage at the Geneva show. It would appear that the carbon fiber craze is far from over in the exotic sports car world, which is not a bad thing. It would have been more exciting to see even a slight performance increase, the definition of a special edition exotic sports car is quite loose, however.

The powertrain for the current Aston Martin DB9 includes the following perks:

  • 6.0-liter V12 engine
  • Output of 510 horses and 457 pound-feet of torque
  • Top speed is estimated at around 183 miles per hour

The black and white carbon edition Aston Martin DB9 cars boast carbon elements integrated perfectly with bright red racing inspired accent pieces. The theme continues inside the cabins, where both models are drenched with more dark carbon fiber and red elements. Custom plaques inside mark them with the special edition logo.

Pricing will likely be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in a couple of weeks with sales commencing shortly thereafter. The brand will also be touting its V8 Vantage N430 and other stars at the show, so stay tuned for the Geneva follow up!
