As predicted, the final model of the Bugatti Legends car series will pay homage to founder Ettore Bugatti himself. It was certainly classy to save the best for last, and it also helped to increase anticipation for the last one of the series. With the Bugatti Veyron model itself no longer in production, it seems entirely fitting and proper for the very last one to honor the founder. Fun fact: All six Bugatti Legends Series cars will be together for the first and last time at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this month.
While it seems strange that the Bugatti Veyron will no longer be produced, it has been around for over a decade already. The Bugatti Legends series has served as an exciting way to usher out the Veyron model while paying respect to six of the major players in Bugatti history. The Bugatti Legends Series Ettore Bugatti Edition at a glance:
- It is a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, just like the other 5 Legends cars. This one is quite special as the exterior is a nod to the 1932 Type 41 Royale chassis 41111.
- It boasts polished aluminum and deep blue exposed carbon fiber. The look is carried down to the wheels, which are finished in blue with diamond cut gleaming spokes.
- It packs a turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine kicking out 1,183 horses. That rockets the Ettore car from 0-60 miles per hour in 2.6 seconds with a top speed of around 254. That top speed is achieved even with the top dropped. Sigh.
- The cabin is where the jaws go from slack to scraping the floor. It is literally drenched in naturally colored calf leather with sleek dark carbon fiber accents. Factor in some cordovan leather, platinum and perfect stitching and the overall effect is a perfection one wouldn’t want to touch for fear of marring something.
I assume that three examples of the Ettore Bugatti Legends car will be made, as that was the production number for the previous five, though it could be a one-off. It will leave its new owner $3.14 million dollars lighter with a permagrin that losing a race likely could not erase.
The carbon fiber weaving is exquisite.
