Bugatti Produces 8 Veyron World Record Special Edition Cars

On the heels of the ‘Fastest Production Car’ turmoil, Bugatti has released 8 Veyron World Record special edition cars. The brand has introduced the world record cars to commemorate holding such a lofty title, and all 8 are naturally spoken for! The official name is quite lengthy: The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Car.

For those unaware of the drama, the Bugatti Veyron has held the title of Fastest Production Car in the Guinness World Records since 2010. Recently, that title was stripped and then restored. It was stripped because the rules state that the production car sold needed to be made available at the same speed that won the record. The Bugatti Veyron was sold with a speed limited to 10 miles per hour slower than the record, sparking controversy. Follow link above for full story and more details.

About the car:

The Bugatti Veyron World Record cars boast the telltale orange and black exterior, with the same 1,183 horsepower quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 that the Bugatti Vitesse packs. It is like a hybrid of the Veyron SS and Vitesse with an identity crisis. It features a racing chassis and carbon fiber monocoque.

The Veyron World Record special edition cars are a Vitesse with a Super Sport paint job…but we would still love to see one in the driveway.

The orange and black theme drips into the lavish cockpit, where splashes of orange appear in the stitching, leather seating and other areas. The black carbon fiber looks amazing in the cabin, where it coats the steering wheel, console, iPad console trim, door panels, belt outlets and logo located on the seating.

The orange can be seen on key parts of the exterior, including the front wings, rims, grille surround and rear wing underside. The attention to detail is standard Bugatti, and the leathers and materials used are all flawless. The 8 World Record cars were all pre-sold for approximately $2.6 million dollars each, plus tax.
