What happens when you combine the soul of an Italian super sports car and the functionality typical of an luxury SUV? You get the 2019 Lamborghini Urus. Unveiled in December 2017, this exclusive super sports utility vehicle out performs any other on the market. Though the Urus is a significant departure from the usual Lamborghini models (i.e. The Huracan, Aventador, and Gallardo), it is not the first ever SUV from the company. That would be the LM002 released in 1986. Its creation is meant to broaden the brand’s typical customer base attracting families, millennials and women as well as maintaining its loyal clientele.

Range Rover Evoque Convertible Is Naked But Not Afraid
In efforts to show that the new Range Rover Evoque convertible is every bit as rugged and ready as her siblings, Land Rover put together a video of her showing off in her natural habitat: some off-roading with mud and water. Check out the clip below proving that the Evoque convertible is naked but not afraid! Spoiler: The clip is far more engulfing and entertaining than the unfortunate television series ‘Naked and Afraid’.
The publicity for the Range Rover Evoque convertible is intended to serve as a preview for the newcomer, poised to claim her spot as the very first luxury convertible compact SUV. It is certain that other brands will follow in the tracks of the Evoque, but few will match her in aesthetics or performance. While the camo is on for the clip, photos have already circulated and the production version will likely be even better looking than the standard Evoque, with new finishes and features.
Mercedes-Benz Checkmates in Frankfurt with Shape Shifting Concept
So Mercedes-Benz just created a real transformer. The Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile (IAA) has just taken the annual Frankfurt Auto Show by storm—showcasing the first-ever automobile capable of changing shapes whilst driving down the road.
This technology is different than just the typical automotive ability to produce a rear wing at high speeds. The Mercedes-Benz IAA is essentially a shape shifter, able to alter its physical form at speeds exceeding 50 miles per hour. To make it even cooler, depending on preference, it is a hybrid.
Video Action: Maserati Boomerang Concept
The Maserati Boomerang concept emerged back in 1972 and was perhaps ahead of its time. The spunky machine has proven what it is worth in today’s dollars when it changed hands for $3.7 million at Bonham’s recently. Check out the video clip below of the Boomerang in action:
The Maserati Boomerang concept was created to serve a special purpose—to show what the brand was capable of and that they were ahead of the curve, so to speak. At her very essence the Boomerang is a show car. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the Boomerang appeared at the 1972 Geneva Motor Show packing a 4.7-liter V8 engine borrowed from the Maserati Bora. The spirited and angular Boomerang produced an impressive 310 horsepower.
Lamborghini Huracan Spyder: Success as a Successor
The Lamborghini Huracan has been a phenomenal success. As the successor to the long-running Lamborghini Gallardo, the Huracan certainly had large tires to fill. Now that she has proven herself in terms of popularity, the nice lady is about to take off her top and become even sexier. Delicious renderings are leaking out of the digitally transformed Huracan in convertible format.
Does the Lamborghini Huracan look better with her top off? It is not likely that the Raging Bull would encounter any issues unloading all units if produced! The rendering above shows the potential Huracan Superleggera and Lamborghini Huracan spyder models.
Mercedes-Benz to Offer Pick-Up Lines?
Mercedes-Benz is known predominantly for its exotic sports car and sedan offerings. The brand is also no stranger to SUVs, vans and superior off-roading beasts like the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG and the G500. So is it an April Fool’s Day jest, or will there be a Mercedes-Benz pick-up truck offering?
The renderings of a potential Mercedes-Benz pick-up truck have ignited rumors that the luxury automaker could be changing course and entering the pick-up truck market. According to Mercedes-Benz CEO Dieter Zetsche: “The Mercedes-Benz pickup will contribute nicely to our global growth targets. We will enter this segment with our distinctive brand identity and all of the vehicle attributes that are typical of the brand with regard to safety, comfort, powertrains and value.” The fairly cut-and-dry statement of intent was released along with the teaser rendering featured above.
After Nixing Hybrid Rumors Lamborghini Urus SUV Could be Charged with Battery
Lamborghini has rocked an SUV in the past–think way back to the LM001 and LM002. For the past two years teasers of the potential Lamborghini Urus SUV have been out, leaving all to grapple at a comeback and also to wonder what powertrain it would pack upon release. Those questions remain unanswered, but with increasing speculation of a hybrid Lamborghini SUV on the horizon.
The theory of the Lamborghini Urus SUV hitting production as a hybrid certainly makes sense with the plethora of battery and electric powered supercars already on the scene. Taking in the big picture, luxury SUVs have made a healthy comeback and hybrids are now increasing in popularity. It then makes perfect sense that a hybrid SUV would not be a terribly risky move on the part of the Raging Bull, so what exactly is the holdup? Tentative 2017 production for the Urus has been released, but things like that often change.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Code Concept: A Fresh Take on the Subcompact Crossover
Renderings of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz G-Code concept are out—and they are worth taking notice. The concept is molded for the future with an extreme shape and a hybrid powertrain. It looks like Audi and MINI may need to watch their backs!
Meet the Mercedes-Benz G-Code subcompact crossover concept. The bubbly little lady is poised to make her debut as early as next year.
Mercedes-Benz has a new R&D center located in Beijing, China. The new location led to the brand factoring in the Asian market influence quite heavily, and the outcome is quite refreshing. We all know, of course, that much could be tweaked prior to the actual production G-Code, but if they remain remotely close to this rendering it will be fantastic.
