Unbelievable: LaFerrari Posted For Sale With Interesting Asking Price

LaFerrari

The Prancing Horse made it nearly impossible to become a proud parent of the fierce LaFerrari hybrid when it was born. Now it seems that at least one of the owners has a short attention span and is already willing to part with their LaFerrari. There have been others in the chosen 499, but this one stands out in the crowd based on asking price alone.

The Laferrari has proven that she looks good in any color–though the one for sale in this instance is black. Shown above in signature Ferrari red. read more

Ferrari 400 Superamerica Nets $6.38 Million at RM Sotheby’s Auction

Ferrari 400 Superamerica

The clear leader of the $60M RM Sotheby’s sale at Amelia Island was the Ferrari 400 Superamerica, which demanded a modest $6.38 million to change hands. The recent partnership between leaders RM Auctions and Sotheby’s has led to a higher standard in luxury auctions, and the total sales are certainly communicating the trend.
The clip above describes the car in full detail with some welcomed action footage.

The 1960 Ferrari 400 Superamerica SWB cabriolet at a glance:

  • Chassis number 1945 SA: The 3rd of 7
  • This car was the successor to the 410 Superamerica, taking the engine displacement down from 5.0 to 4.0. The healthy V12 long block produced 340 Prancing Horses.

Video: One-off Bugatti L’Or Blanc Encounters Rare LaFerrari and Backs Into It

LaFerrari Bugatti crash

In what could be humorously described as a territorial dispute, the exquisite one-of-a-kind Bugatti L’Or Blanc backed into a precious LaFerrari. It seems that the streets of Paris can be a rough-and-tumble place for a supercar. The unfortunate incident was captured on video for the world to view and cringe. View the LaFerrari Bugatti crash below:

Watch it go down in the short clip above:

Bugatti Veyron L’Or Blanc: The most delicate of supercars is a street bully?

The Bugatti Veyron and the LaFerrari are placed at the top of the list in terms of most expensive and exclusive rides in the world. The chances of seeing the two nearly mythical beasts next to each other are slim, making the encounter that much more shocking. The LaFerrari comes with a price tag exceeding the million-dollar mark, with a list of wannabe buyers as long as a Monday workday. The one-off Bugatti Veyron L’Or Blanc is a special edition slice of glamour featuring delicate porcelain from a rather exclusive firm, and is also well north of the million dollar pricing bracket. Porcelain is not as potent as Kevlar and other materials used in armored vehicles, so why this driver opted to plow into reverse without triple-checking remains a mystery. He seems to just pull onto the road without a care and carry on about his day. read more

Colorful New Ferrari App Lets You Build Custom Car Instantly

Visualizing the perfect dream machine build just became easier with a new Ferrari app called the ‘Ferrari AR showroom”. The application allows visitors to Ferrari showrooms to completely customize their favorite models to get a better feel for color, rims, brakes and wheel combinations while making the important purchase decisions. Yes, life can be that rough.
The brief clip above shows the Ferrari AR showroom app in action:

The Ferrari AR showroom app is used on tablets in the showroom, eliminating the squinting associated with smaller devices. The app was created by developer Zspace with input by the Horse, of course, to provide a more in-depth and visual experience at point-of-purchase. Will it decrease the number of customized eyesore decisions cruising the streets wearing the Ferrari badge? Unknown. Will it offer a glimpse at what a buyer thinks will look good in their mind before making a potentially tragic mistake? Indeed. read more

Did You Know Pink Ferrari Cars Are Actually Not Allowed?

Pink Ferrari

Ferrari is an impeccable brand with sometimes impossible standards, and that is why they have pretty much run the exotic sports car game for decades. With such a larger-than-life brand comes strict protocols–including the little-known code on pink Ferrari cars: They are not allowed.

So why has Ferrari taken such a stringent stance on such a delicate hue?

In the wake of Justin Bieber being permitted to purchase the coveted multi-million dollar LaFerrari, it could seem comical to some that Ferrari would forbid a simple color choice. The issue is with branding, and the Prancing Horse prefers to be synonymous with its signature red rather than be left blushing for the world to behold. Once an owner has taken possession of their vehicle, they are free to color it in any shade they choose—there is no contract forbidding future color changes. But when ordering a Ferrari, even using the most bespoke program, any request for a pink exterior will be denied, no matter how prominent the purchaser or how deep the pocket. Ferrari simply holds to their ethos and standards, and for those reasons is only willing to sell products that match them.  Ferrari of Australia CEO Herbert Appleroth explained: “We do reject the exterior color pink. You can of course paint your car pink after you’ve bought it, but you’ll never see a pink car from us because it’s not in line with our brand ethos and our standards.” read more

Robert De Niro to Portray Enzo Ferrari in ‘Ferrari’ Movie

Ferrari movie

Attention racing fans: There is a new film coming out titled simply ‘Ferrari’, and Robert De Niro shall portray Enzo Ferrari! The Ferrari movie is to shed more light on the life of Enzo Ferrari, offering up additional details on his fascinating existence and, of course, those dream machines.

For those ‘Furious 7’ fans wondering what automotive movie will emerge next, it seems that ‘Ferrari’ is already in the works and will offer a glimpse of the brand’s rich history.

News of the upcoming movie emerged in an Italian publication, II Messaggero, which sort of rhymes with De Niro–a cute coincidence I did not miss. To make matters a bit more Hollywood, it seems that Clint Eastwood may have expressed an interest in manning the director’s chair for the film. Robert De Niro has confirmed his role in the feature, stating that it will absorb his full focus when production begins. read more

LaFerrari Is Happy When it Rains

Take in the view from the cockpit of the luscious LaFerrari as she tackles the track in the short video below:

Above is awesome footage of the powerful LaFerrari hyperbeast taking on the track in the rain. The car seems to manage just fine, regardless of weather conditions. That said–it might not be the greatest of inspirations to drive her on ice or snow! read more

Video: The Turbo Ferrari 488 GTB Behind the Scenes

Now that the first-ever turbo Ferrari is out, let’s check out the footage below of the 488 GTB behind the scenes in action:

See the turbo Ferrari 488 GTB negotiate turns and rip it up on the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia and some roads in Tortosa and Saragozza. These are clips from the official video shoot for the new model.

The Prancing Horse always kept thoughts of a turbocharged engine in the back of the barn. The Ferrari 488 GTB was met with much surprise with her turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine. The engine is not shared with any existing Ferrari model thus far. Many expected a potential turbo variant of the Ferrari 458, but the brand opted to change up the game and kick out something that seems to be quite its own animal. In the power arena, the Ferrari 488 GTB produces 660 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque, even with the changes. Downsizing from that naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V8 does not seem to be a bad thing, as engineers have ensured that the 488 still delivers in the power sector. The twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 used is a tweaked variant of the 3.8-liter found in the 2015 Ferrari California T. read more
