Lambokhana: How to Punish a Lamborghini Ken Block Style

The clip below shares the adrenaline of blending Gymkhana with a Lamborghini, or Lambokhana as some are labeling the fun. When it comes to automotive acrobatics, few can match the technique and prowess of Ken Block.

This is Ken Block’s take on what is being called Lambokhana–taking place on a handcrafted strategy course. While it lacks in some of Block’s previous shenanigans, it is still worth the watch.

It is safe to assume that Ken Block’s Gymkhana style will remain popular for many years to come. What Block does with rally cars like the Subaru WRX and others is not an easy challenge, and to control a beast like the Lamborghini for supercar gymkhana takes that skill factor up a few additional degrees. That does not mean that this Lambo is faster than Block’s rally cars–it is probably not. It is simply more challenging to control a car like the Gallardo or an Aventador. read more

$6,000 Lamborghini Smartphone is Already Outdated

Lamborghini smartphone

This is the $6k Lamborghini smartphone that is already outdated. It is the 88 Tauri, and it’s technology has already passed its prime, though it may find its way onto the Christmas wish list of a somewhat older Lamborghini fan who does not know the difference.

Hold the phone: Lamborghini founder’s son is offering brand-inspired smartphones.

The 88 Tauri smartphone at a glance:

  • The company behind the phone is Tonino Lamborghini. The head of the company is none other than Lamborghini founder Ferrucio’s son–though Tonino Lamborghini is not officially affiliated with Lamborghini cars.
  • The smartphone operates on Android and a quad-core Qualcomm 801 processor. While it is better than some of those old laughable Blackberry phones inspired by exotic cars like Porsche, it is not quite up to competition mode with the latest market offerings this holiday season.
  • Just 1,947 88 Tauri phones will be made…which may be roughly 1,946 too many.

This Lamborghini smartphone is aesthetically pleasing.

Video: Group of Lamborghini Aventadors in Rainbow Colors

Lucky bystanders at a track in Imola, a providence of Bologna, Italy, recently had the pleasure of seeing a group of rather colorful Lamborghini Aventadors. The throaty roars of the Aventadors engulfed the track in shades of red, blue, green, yellow and gray. It was like a box of very expensive crayons, but the sound was far from nails on a chalkboard.
The sound of several Lamborghini Aventador supercars ripping around the track in unison is incredible!

The group was a gathering of the Lamborghini Accademia, a Lamborghini driving school. The Lamborghini Squadra Corse division runs the school. What better education could one ask for than to be schooled on how to strategically manipulate the aggressive Lamborghini Aventador and its 700 horses on a track in Italy? I am rethinking my college major. read more

Why Isn’t the Lamborghini Ankonian Concept Being Built?

Lamborghini Ankonian concept

What do you get when you fuse a Batmobile with the best Lamborghini has to offer? This insane exotic car concept looks like it could transform into a fighter jet and rocket directly off of the road. The Lamborghini Ankonian concept brings to life a fantasy, so why is it not being built?

When it comes to creating lust worthy sports cars that are tantalizing from every angle, it is a challenge to top Lamborghini. Perhaps that is why the Raging Bull inspired Macedonian designer Slavche Tanevsky to draw the Ankonian concept. The Lamborghini Ankonian concept was a student project drafted by Tanevsky during his days at Munich University of Applied Sciences. What makes Tanevsky a standout student is that he was fortunate enough to have input from both Lamborghini and Audi while dreaming up his concept—a luxury students would offer a limb to obtain. read more

Liberty Walk at SEMA: Best Tuned Lamborghini Aventador?

The Liberty Walk Aventador teasers have been out since early summer–and the real deal at the 2014 SEMA show was certainly not a letdown! The teasers of the tuned Lamborghini Aventador were shown in an aggressive red. The model at the show was sporting a more attractive powder blue hue, which most adored over the louder red. The wide body kit looks spectacular on the often-tuned Lamborghini Aventador.

The video clip above shows the Liberty Walk Aventador spitting some flames at Newport Beach. Warning: You may want to watch it twice–she is a nice lady. read more

Just a Chrome Wrapped Lamborghini Huracan

Lamborghini Huracan

The Lamborghini Huracan has emerged to take the place of the long-running and outgoing Lamborghini Gallardo. Filling the shoes of the flagship Gallardo is certainly a challenge, but the Raging Bull has invested much time and money touting the new family member– even providing California with a Huracan police cruiser. Now we have a chrome Lamborghini Huracan, a bespoke project that likely does not…reflect…the brand’s vision of the supercar but is certainly unique! Just a chrome Lamborghini Huracan. No big deal. At least it is not bubble-gum pink with Hello Kitty interior. read more

Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4: The Mystery is Revealed in Paris

Lamborghini Asterion

Following a bit of a striptease, the much-anticipated new Lamborghini has been revealed at the Paris Auto Show. The Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 is unmistakably a Lambo, but it joins the ranks of the hybrid supercars. That is right, the Asterion is the first-ever plug-in Lamborghini hybrid.

The Lamborghini Asterion is not quite as flashy as the LaFerrari hybrid, and it is unknown if it will be as pricey, but it does deliver 903 horses. Let’s take a look at the Asterion’s specs:

  • The Asterion is a mid-engine 2+2 layout coupe. She measures just 4.7m in length and borrows plenty from the luscious Lamborghini Aventador.
  • The changes to the body shape are just enough to lend it its own identity. It has obvious ties to both the Aventador and the Huracan, but a personality that is entirely its own.
  • Power is derived from a 607 bhp 5.2-liter V10 engine paired with 3 electric motors. One electric motor is attached to the transaxle while the other two are on the front axle. The end result is 903 horses

Fun fact: The Lamborghini Asterion was named for the mythical Minotaur. Because the Raging Bull has a bit of a penchant for naming its models after bulls, the name Asterion is entirely fitting of the new beast. read more
