The V12 Aston Martin Vantage GT3

Kevin Buckler, owner of TRG, described the Aston Martin Daytona prototype as follows: “The V12 engine sounds fantastic, but for what’s being developed, that’s not the exact package we’re looking at. There’s still a lot of work to be done, but the vision we’re aiming towards, if you want to try and picture it, is to have two DP cars coming down the front straight at Daytona that look like a prototype version of the GT3 car.” read more

Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept Lacks Creature Comforts

Aston Martin CC100 Speedster

The Aston Martin CC100 Speedster concept is a racy tribute to the brand’s 100 years in the luxury auto industry. The CC100 is missing a few key comforts, including a roof and the lower portion of its doors. What it lacks in creature comforts, the concept makes up for with power and prowess.

The Aston Martin CC100 racer stirred up excitement recently at the Nürburgring racetrack. The sporty blue and yellow exterior is fitting of a track car and draw attention to the elongated body.

The CC100 Speedster boasts a blend of components borrowed from its predecessors. Under the prominent hood lurks a mean 6.0-liter V12 borrowed from the rest of the range. The transmission is a 6-speed semi-automatic with paddles positioned directly on the steering wheel. It has the aluminum architecture of the road going cars, but is built strictly for the track. read more

Can Aston Martin overcome this identity crisis and create a well-rounded fleet to choose from?

Anyone lacking a functional knowledge of exotic cars can easily point out an Aston Martin. The problem lies in the fact that even car connoisseurs sometimes need a few minutes to distinguish a DB9 from a DBS, or a Vantage from a Virage. I think you are picking up what I am putting down at this juncture! They all look the same, like starter homes lining a cul de sac. read more
