Lamborghini Teases New Model Ahead of Paris Auto Show

Lamborghini

Lamborghini currently sells only two models: The Lamborghini Aventador and the all-new Lamborghini Huracan. The Aventador is the beast of the brand, powered by a V12 engine kicking out 700+ horsepower, while the Huracan has pulled up to replace the flagship Gallardo with a V10. Now Lamborghini is hinting at a new model, possibly to be unveiled at the 2014 Paris Auto Show this October.

So far, all we have to go on is this tiny sketch, which could hardly be considered a rough draft. They know how to keep fans anticipating the next reveal.  read more

The Sultry Ferrari F80 Concept

Ferrari F80 concept

This could be the thirstiest looking Ferrari concept ever. The Ferrari F80 concept may have lost its limelight to the reality that is the LaFerrari, but this Prancing Horse most assuredly has got it going on in all the right places!

Ferrari F80 concept

The Ferrari F80 concept at a glance:

  • She was designed by Italian Adriano Raeli. Raeli is an Art Center College of Design graduate with a passion for all that is fast and beautiful.
  • The powertrain would be a hybrid system pairing a KERS with a combustion engine. The estimated result would sit at around 1,200 horses, or equal to the Bugatti Veyron supercar.
  • The V12 would be replaced with a twin-turbocharged V8 kicking out 900 horses. That engine mated to the KERS with 300 provides the 1,200 total output. Feelings vary on replacing that glorious V12, but it is the end result that matters, is it not?
  • Curb weight for this nice lady would be a light 1,763 pounds with a 2-seat layout.
  • Performance estimates are 2.2 seconds for the 0-60 mile per hour sprint with a top out of around 310. Yes, that is 310 miles per hour. Many supercars barely pass the 200 MPH mark, making this incredible.
  • Still hating? The Ferrari F40 packed a twin-turbo V8.

The lovely Ferrari F80 is but a concept, but with such promise in the power arena and such a stunning shape, it would be a tragedy not to build her. With so much interest in LaFerrari and so many turned away from buying her, having something like the F80 around to dry the tears would be kinda cool. read more

Aston Martin SUV Plans Taking a Back Road

Aston Martin SUV

It seems there will not be an Aston Martin SUV in the foreseeable future. While a plethora of luxury brands have opted to create and concept SUVs when they are known for sports cars or grand touring vehicles, Aston Martin is passing at this point to focus on coach building and perfecting its next-generation of exotic sports cars.

Should the 007 brand venture into building luxury SUVs? Is the world ready for an Aston Martin SUV offering?

Because Aston Martin is backing out of the SUV race, rumors are flying. Is the brand avoiding a lucrative opportunity or are they increasing another one? With other high-end automakers spreading themselves thin creating fleets packed with sedans, coupes, SUVs and crossovers, and multiple powertrains available for each–Aston Martin could gain an edge in the focused markets. read more

Range Rover Evoque Convertible Gets Green Light?

Range Rover Evoque convertible

Rumors have been flying back and forth that there will be a Range Rover Evoque convertible pretty much since its birth. The latest murmurings are that Land Rover has finally given the Evoque the green light to take its top off. Is it true?

Some automotive blogs are stating that a source from Land Rover stated that the Evoque convertible has the green light and will be built. We must wait for official word for this interesting turn-about.

The Range Rover Evoque convertible concept first appeared at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. While it certainly sounds a bit bizarre, as you can see from the photos, it is not actually too terrible. I cannot decide if I am into it or if it is off-putting, though I would like the opportunity to take it for a spin to see if it grows on me. read more

Just a Range Rover Convertible Rolling Around Dubai

Range Rover convertible

Just when you think you have seen it all, an automobile leaves you speechless. Check out this Range Rover convertible spotted in Dubai. It is understandable that one would wish to drop the top in Dubai, as it is scorching hot, but this is clearly a devoted Range Rover client and nothing else would do!

This Range Rover convertible was tweaked to suit the needs of its Dubai owner. What do you think of the beast with its top removed?

Only the best exotic vehicles occupy the streets of Dubai, so this is actually a Range Rover supercharged. While there are plenty of images out there for Range Rover convertible concepts, this guy apparently could not hold his horses and wait it out, opting for an aftermarket conversion. Newport Convertible Engineering, with the Range Rover being among their specialties, did the conversion. They removed the roof of the sporty SUV with the door frames intact, did away with the C and D pillars and the glass around the boot. A brace was placed between B pillars for added strength and, of course, a convertible top.  read more

The Maserati Alfieri Concept is a Long Drink of Water

Maserati Alfieri Concept

Maserati cars are cookie-cutter for the most part. That is not a rude statement, but rather one known to be universally true. Enter the Maserati Alfieri concept. This stunning beauty is an elongated and updated idea of what the future of the brand could provide!

I am trying not to get overly revved up by the extreme dynamics of the Maserati Alfieri because it is still a concept and could emerge from the production line looking exactly like its predecessors. But if you allow that tiny voice inside your head to hold an ounce of hope…imagine seeing this on the streets! It would make a great addition to our fleet of Maserati rentals. read more

Maserati Levante SUV Leaves Jeep Platform in Rearview Mirror

Maserati Levante SUV

Rumors exploded over the past few months that the Maserati Levante concept would be built on a Jeep platform. While some were stoked about the possibilities, they will not come to pass on a Jeep chassis regardless of the parent relations between Fiat and Chrysler. The Maserati Levante SUV will instead sit on the new Quattroporte/Ghibli architecture.

The Maserati Levante SUV will not be Jeep based after all. Maserati CEO Harald Wester has reviled changes to the plan. It will look very much like the Kubang concept, shown above. read more

2015 Land Rover Freelander Leaked?

2015 Land Rover Freelander

It appears that Land Rover is working on a big brother to its little Range Rover Evoque. What is thought to be the 2015 Land Rover Freelander has been spied testing in full camo–and speculation is raging out of control due to its seemingly larger size. So has Land Rover been sizing up competition to determine that size does matter?

The potential next generation was caught on the streets. Thoughts?

Back in the 1990s, market research indicated that Land Rover could enter the compact SUV arena. Since that time, different variations of the Land Rover Freelander have emerged. The current version is offered in both 2 and 4-wheel drive and known as the LR2 here in North America and the Freelander 2 in Europe. Now recall the diminutive Range Rover Evoque, impossibly tiny and adorable. Enter the 2015 sibling. read more
