Gas prices have everyone hot, especially when they hit around $4 per gallon…everyone but Chevy Volt owners, that is! Jeff Parmet, proud owner of the Chevy Volt hybrid car, has recently purchased fuel for the first time, a full six months after buying the car! And no, it was not simply sitting in his driveway!
The Chevy Volt is touted as a city car
Parmet is not the only one smitten with electric hybrid technology; Chevy Volt owner Jay Leno captured headlines when it became a member of his famous fleet of rare and exotic cars!

One of the first to purchase a Volt in the D.C. metro region, Parmet claims that the plug-in electric hybrid is about more than just saving money. I assume Parmet is alluding to those who control the cost of fuel?

Parmet has the luxury of working from home, enabling him to control his commute. He has driven the Volt 2,500 miles on just 8 gallons of fuel in six months, but not everyone would have that option, especially those with long city commutes. Charging the Volt at his home has only caused a slight bump in his electric bill, which is good news!

The Chevy Volt ranks as the 13th greenest car out of 1,100 vehicles tested at the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (super long name…I wonder if they have tee-shirts made…). The Nissan Leaf and the Honda Civic GX both placed higher on that list than the Volt.
