Details on the Falcon F7 Supercar

Deployed at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show, the Falcon F7 sounds more like a military aircraft or private air charter, but it is actually a carbon fiber and monocoque fantasy. This car looks like an Audi R8 and a Ferrari mated from the front and side, and has some old-fashioned American muscle car appeal from the rear view. Overall, the Falcon F7 sizzles in both appearance and power, so let’s get down to specs.

Under the shapely aerodynamic hood of the Falcon F7 lurks a surprise—a 7.0-liter Chevy V8 (Insert “built Ford tough with Chevy stuff joke). This allows the F7 to hit a blistering speed of approximately 200 miles per hour. The 0-60 sprint time is 3.3-3.5, which indicates that it has not been verified precisely.

The good news is that this is not a mere luxury car concept–the mid-engine F7 is in production. The bad news is that you cannot have one unless you have $195,000-$250,000 USD and the power to get on the short list of 15 that will be made the first year. If you save up for the next production year, Falcon plans to raise that figure to 25, and hopes for 100 annually over subsequent years.
