Koenigsegg Sets Six New Records

It seems that Swedish hypercar Koenigsegg is hell bent on life in the fastest lane, taking down six new records, beating out the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport in most areas! Bugatti has been sweating the imminent threat of competition in luxury racing and titles as of late, and unless they kick up the adrenaline, their time just may have come!

The Koenigsegg Agera R has successfully stolen the glory of the Bugatti Veyron SS, snagging better times in most acceleration and braking tests. Koenigsegg announced that it has broken six new world land-speed records for a production car with the 1,115 horsepower Agera R. While Guinness Book of World Records has not confirmed the claims yet, the data was collected by a third party with the officially accepted Racelogic VBox performance recorder, so it seems legit.

Bugatti still reigns in the 0-60 challenge, with its insane time of 2.5 seconds, and still has the fastest top speed of 268 miles per hour. The Agera R reaches 186 miles per hour much faster than the Veyron SS, with a time of 14.53 seconds compared to Veyron’s 16.7. The Agera is significantly lighter, weighing in at 2,932 compared to the Veyron’s hefty 4,052 figure.
