In the interest of keeping things interesting and exclusive, just 600 examples of the new Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce shall be created. That means just 600 units for the total production run, not annually. The announcement was made during this year’s Shanghai Motor Show.

The Lamborghini Aventador SV was officially introduced at the Geneva Motor Show, and has since made cameos in Amelia Island and Shanghai. While the production run may seem small, bear in mind that just a decade ago the Raging Bull was barely building that many models per year. Last year, the total units produced were around 2,500, indicating a steady growth over the years for the brand. 

The Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce at a glance:

• This special model is being billed as the most sports-oriented, fastest and most emotional series ever produced by the marquee—which explains the healthy $500,000 bill.
• The nice lady is packing a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 producing 740 horses delivered to all 4 wheels.
• That is 40 more horses than the standard Lamborghini Aventador, which seemed to just drown in awards the instant she emerged.
• The Aventador SV is capable of hitting the 0-60 mile per hour jump in just 2.8 seconds with a top out of 217+ miles per hour. It seems that it shall be a street legal model, though likely limited.

Overall, the SV Aventador is not just joining the ranks of the fastest Lamborghini offerings–it is coming out of the gate offering higher performance and that special Aventador appearance that seems to be highly preferred over other models. All units of the relatively small production run are likely to sell out just as fast as they are made.
