A Luxury Hybrid Car with Bugatti Power?

When one pictures Croatia, it is typically a vision of electric Adriatic shorelines, close-knit culture and extremely tall men…and now, electric supercars? A Zagreb-based startup called Rimac Automobili has announced a battery-powered luxury hybrid coupe that it says can reach 190 miles per hour.

The car is called ‘Concept One’ and was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. According to Rimac, Concept One’s powertrain was developed using a BMW 3-Series as a test bed. The car features a unique AWD system designed by Rimac, and kicks out 1088 horses, hitting the 0-60 mark in under 3 seconds. Wait…are we talking about a luxury hybrid car or a Bugatti Veyron?

The inside of Concept One is laden with leather from Bulgarian interior specialist Vilner, which is an impressive company, and a few engineers are employed who previously worked for Pininfarina (think Ferrari). This shocking supercar is still in its infancy, and some details are being hoarded, but there must be some funds backing it for it to appear at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
