New Maserati Quattroporte is From Italy with Luxe

Rap star Eminem rang in the anthem for Chrysler’s new “Imported from Detroit” angle, and now Maserati is showing some country love. Fiat SpA’s new Maserati Quattroporte is trumpeting an imported from Italy song, with luxe.

Maserati Quattroporte

The new Maserati Quattroporte:

  • Entry-level: Direct-injected, twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 410 horses. This model has a top speed of 177 miles per hour.
  • Range-topper: Direct-injected, twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 with 530 horses. Top speed is 191 miles per hour for this beast!
  • Both models will have a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifting. Clients can select either RWD or AWD configurations.
2014 Maserati Quattroporte

The new Maserati Quattroporte can hit the 60-mile per hour marker in less than 5 seconds, without attempting to be a supercar. The super sleek model will roll onto the U.S. market this year, where the brand hopes to lure a larger share of buyers. This number may be a bit unrealistic, however, as Maserati currently unloads around 5,000 units in the States annually and aims for 50,000 by 2015. Hey Maserati…drop the price to 1/3 and that may actually happen! Until then, our Maserati rentals are always available.

Fiat says it will increase Maserati dealerships worldwide to 425 by 2015 from 250 at the end of 2012.

Fiat SpA will be investing around $1.6 billion between now and next year in product development and a new factory located in Italy. They hope to sell around 8,000 units of the 2014 Maserati Quattroporte the year it emerges. To compare, Porsche sold 35,000 units and Jaguar 12,000.
