Mercedes-Benz to Introduce 2009 McLaren SLR Stirling Moss at Detroit Auto Show

2009 Mercedes-Benz McLaren Stirling Moss The bold and ultra-elite 09 McLaren Stirling Moss will make its debut at the Detroit Auto Show.  Mercedes-Benz and McLaren are paired together on this project and will only be manufacturing 75 of the SLR Stirling Moss models, and they will be further enticing because they are only being made available to Europeans who are owners of previous models.  Talk about uber-exlusive.

The claim to fame for this brazen road beast is all in the design, as it completely lacks both a windshield and a roof, a shocking turn in a new direction of luxury cars.  The body is comprised of carbon fiber wrapped over the standard version, encasing a 650 horsepower supercharged 5.5-liter V8 engine and five-speed automatic transmission from the SLR 722.

What further entices is the robust speeds this model is capable of reaching, a brisk 217 miles per hour.  The design is very glam-mod, with “swing-wing” doors, and a retractable air brake that can be operated manually.  No need to fret about the weather, as there is a two-piece tonneau cover stored neatly in the trunk space that covers the entire cockpit, or just the passenger seat if need be.

The innovative McLaren Stirling Moss 2009 removes all barriers between the driver and the environment, making it an ideal ride for the luxury car enthusiast/addict in all of us.  It will be interesting to see who ends up the privileged owners of these 75 extremely limited addictions.
