Summer is officially here and the temperatures have been slowly climbing the past few weeks.  This can only mean one thing for Chicago residents who know what “The Playpen” is.  Chicago Scene’s annual boat party is fast approaching and this week Chicago residents should be focused on securing a spot on a luxury yacht for Lake Michigan’s biggest boat party.  The actual party will be on July 31^st, allowing all of those who want to attend plenty of time to secure a luxury yacht rental.

Referred to as a “Floating Mardi Gras” by many Chicago residents, this party is truly one that cannot be missed.  Last year, over 600 boats tied up in “The Playpen”, a beautiful area located just north of Chicago Avenue Beach.  The whole area will be a no-wake zone for the event, allowing boats to tie up safely in rows of up to 150 boats.  July 31^st will also be the 10^th anniversary of the party so we can expect some special events to be planned.  Tickets are not required to attend the event.
