Even the world’s fastest supercar is under $2 million USD…so why is the Maybach Exelero a staggering $8 million? Yeah, it packs a power punch and is certainly a luxury vehicle, but without bragging rights and world records, where is the incentive to drop that kind of cash?
Apparently there are quite a few Maybach fans out there, including rapper Birdman, who owns a Maybach Landaulet, Bugatti Veyron, and he did drop the $8 million to own the Exelero. Birdman’s Bugatti purchase led to the rapper telling the world "Not everyone can own a Bugatti" (Follow link for full story!) I suppose paying $8 million for a new car is nothing when you happen to be the 4th-wealthiest hip-hop star in the world, ranking just below Puffy, Dre and leader Jay-Z. Bird’s estimated worth is around $100 million, or roughly 12 Maybach Exelero supercars.
Maybach Exelero–hotter than the Bugatti Veyron?
As with many other exotics, the Maybach is continually touted as “rare”, meaning they will custom build them and ensure that there are never too many around so that people will spend more money to have one. Ahh…marketing ploys! So is this really a special vehicle?
Under the hood lurks Maybach’s twin-turbo V12 engine kicking out 700 horses…to put things into perspective, the Bugatti Veyron unleashes over 1,000 horses. What are your thoughts? Comment below!
