At long last, Land Rover will be selling the diesel Range Rover products in the U.S. The clip above outlines what to expect from the lineup.
Land Rover made the official announcement at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show that it was going to extend sales for some diesel models to the states. Those models include the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, labeled as Td6. Both luxury SUVs will be packing the same 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6 engine kicking out 254 horses. If that is simply not enough, the frontrunner will be the 340-horsepower Range Rover Sport SE Td6 for around $68k. The largest model, the regular Range Rover diesel Td6 starts at $87,445. Start to customize and add trim packages and that price quickly approaches the $100k marker. Fans of the brand know that they are worth the money.
For comparison purposes, the standard gasoline fueled Range Rover is also equipped with a V6 and produces 340 horsepower. Fuel economy figures for the diesel Rovers are estimated at 22 miles per gallon city and 28 highway for a combined rate of 25. Look for both the diesel and standard 2016 Range Rover models to emerge in showrooms around September of 2015.
