The centerpiece of the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed (FOS) is the central display of immaculate oversized automotive models. This year the central display is absolutely captivating–going above and beyond to celebrate not only all that is automotive, but also the 120th year of Mercedes-Benz motorsport! The wow factor was finished off with a glowing SLS Mercedes-Benz taking to the track for a bit of showing off.
Fun fact: This year celebrates 120 years of Mercedes-Benz hitting the motorsport scene. The oversized sculpture was but a slice of the celebrations for the brand. (Photo courtesy of Richard Pardon). The Mercedes-Benz sculpture was created by artist Gerry Judah. It marks the first time the sculpture has crossed the roof of the Goodwood house
The tradition seems to be for automobiles to slice through the air for all to see.
As if the cars on the track and perched on the auction block are not enough for onlookers, they are free to gawk at the central display. It is always awesome.
