Florida is famous for the miles and miles of beautiful beaches that outline the state- drawing visitors from all over the world.  But as anyone who has been here will attest, there is much more to the South Florida experience than sun-worshipping.  If you are not a “beach person”, you need not fret because South Florida and its luxury can be experienced sans a beach towel-let us tell you how!

If you fancy yourself an aficionado of all things epicurean, or would love to learn more and sample, then Miami is just the spot for you during August and September.  This is when a cornucopia of food and taste and cultures unite for “Miami Spice 2009”.  This palate-pleasing experience dishes up indulgence from some of the best known chefs in the world, at ridiculously low prices.  During Miami Spice, participating establishments will be offering three-course meals for $22 at lunch and $35 at dinner.  Learn more about luxury rental properties available during your stay.

If you tend toward the pleasures of the grape, consider The Miami International Wine Fair in late September, where guests will have the opportunity to taste more than 1,500 different wines from 20 countries. Famous importers and distributors will be there to offer tastings and information on their products. It is a great fusion of supply and demand as buyers gather from across the USA, Canada and the Caribbean to meet with exhibitors and give attendees a taste of the simple luxuries in life.

Another great idea is the Miami Seaquarium, an easily accessed and wonderfully educational spot on the Rickenbacker Causeway-not far from the University of Miami. The Miami Seaquarium is set in a lush park that spans a full 38 luxurious acres along Biscayne Bay. Full of exhibits and offering tours and breath-taking shows, there is something for everyone. For the adventuresome, there is the opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with sharks, dolphins, sea lions and other marine life…even killer whales!

The iconic colors and architecture of Miami Beach’s Art Deco district might be as famous as the beaches themselves. South Beach is full of art deco-style buildings and there is a local historical architecture group dedicated to preserving it all. The Miami Design Preservation League helps to educate visitors and to promote this unique style by offering 90-minute guided walking tours that are led by local historians and architects. Or, if you prefer to amble through the district yourself, they also offer multi-lingual audio guides for rent.

These are just a few of the many ideas for a luxury Miami vacation.  There certainly are other luxury staples, such as high-end shopping, fine dining, exotic rental cars South Beach style, entertainment variety, and nightclubs known for celeb-spotting.  We will see you soon!
