2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Carbon—Limited Edition

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Corvette’s first LeMans appearance, the luxury company is making 500 special edition Corvette Z06 Carbon models.  These lookers have a ZR1 chasses, and are fitted seductively with carbon fiber body panels.  Who isn’t drooling over carbon material in luxury cars these days.  Well played, Chevy.

The hood is unique and similar to the ZR1, and also carbon fiber (sensing a trend).  It is the lightest hood ever made for a Corvette.  The 2011 Chevy Corvette Z06 Carbon’s powertrain is the same as the standard Z06, because if it isn’t broke, why fix it?  The improved suspension, brakes and overall weight loss streamlines the track 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon in Bluetime.  In fact, at Laguna Seca, a Z06 Carbon Chevy was approximately three seconds faster than its standard Z06 predecessor.  Any weight shaved off of an exotic car is an improvement for racing capacity, as everyone knows lighter cars catapult faster.

As mentioned previously, Chevy is only going to make 500 of the Z06 Carbon models, and they will be available in Inferno Orange or Supersonic Blue.  The added luxury of the carbon fiber detail is sure to generate excitement for this new and exclusive model.  Pricing is expected to hit somewhere between $75,000 and $110,000 and will be announced closer to the official launch date.  For more information on Chevrolet, Corvette rentals, and , follow links.
