Some feel that Audi, who has never been a direct threat to the likes of Lamborghini, is taking aim at them with the new Audi R8 GT Spyder!  As incredulous as this allegation may sound, the R8 GT is certainly a supercar, and according to Audi it can stomp a Lamborghini Gallardo Performante in the 0-60 sprint.  Is this a challenge?  I do love the scent of burnt rubber!  Don’t get all jealous, try out an Audi R8 rental Miami today.

Audi Vs. Lamborghini

Both supercars were constructed with the same basic architecture and share the same engine and gearbox.  Neither the Lamborghini Gallardo nor the Audi R8 GT carry unnecessary weight, allowing the to reach top speeds befitting a supercar.  Audi claims the R8 GT model reaches speeds of around 199 miles per hour, while Lamborghini claims the Gallardo Performante can hit 201 mph.

According to reports, the Audi nailed the 0-60 sprint in 3.8 seconds while the Lambo had a time of 3.9.  Is Audi a second ahead of Lamborghini?  Interesting, indeed!

This is likely a contest that will have no exciting ending or showdown, I predict it will boil down to simple driving preferences.  Lamborghini fans will continue to buy Lambos, and visa versa.  There may be a small margin that flip to the darkside, but changing your mind is legal.
