McLaren display beneath One Hyde Park

Recently the hautest new London address, One Hyde Park, showed the world the meaning of a launch party!  The champagne flowed, 5,000 golden balloons were released from the roof, guests dined on the creations of Heston Blumethal and Daniel Boulud, and those fortunate enough to be present could rub elbows with the likes of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Eastern European oligarchs, Middle Eastern sheiks, Chinese entrepreneurs, Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone and 350 other select VIPs.  I can just picture the flawless lineup of luxury rental cars gracing the opulent entrance.

Aside from luxury rental cars, there were stretch limousines on hand to ferry the VIPs to the posh Mandarin Oriental Hotel next door.  One Hyde Park is already being described as the most desirable address in the world, and has raised the bar for global house prices for the ultra-wealthy.

Approximately 60% of the 86 illustrious One Hyde Park units have been sold thus far, and the rest are highly sought-after.  Aside from exquisite architecture and design elements, amenities of this luxe living community include a private cinema, a 69-foot swimming pool, saunas, a gym, a golf simulator, a wine cellar, a valet service, concierge and room service from the Mandarin Oriental next door.

A humble one-bedroom flat is said to cost £6.75 million ($11 million USD), with developers claiming that the majority cost between $44 million and $55 million (USD).  Word is that security is pretty tight at One Hyde Park, complete with iris-recognition systems in the lifts, panic rooms and bulletproof glass.
