So you like the looks of the new BMW X3 luxury SUV, but can’t exactly decide how it will look parked in front of your home, or simply can’t afford it.  No problem!  The good people at BMW have introduced the ‘BMW X3 Anywhere’, an augmented reality that allows you to see how the hot X3 will look parked in various locations, like your place.  Worst-case scenario, your friends and stalkers will assume it is a luxury SUV rental…or they are familiar with the app.  Either way, you win.

To use the BMW X3 Anywhere App, simply select a backdrop, position the X3, take a picture, and post it online as if you own it.  So much…awesome. 

This app seems to show that BMW is stepping up their efforts in the mobile applications arena.  Those using an iPhone or iPod Touch can position the X3 in different scenarios. 

Here is a description as provided by BMW in iTunes:

“Introducing X3 Anywhere. Using your iPhone or iPod Touch, this augmented reality app lets you see how an X3 would look anywhere you want to place it. First choose a color for your X3. Then select a backdrop: your driveway, your favorite restaurant or at the beach. You can even change the proportion or angle of your X3 in the scene. Once you’re happy with what you see, take a picture. Then save a copy or share it with friends on Facebook. It’s not just AR for the all-new X3. It’s the ultimate augmented reality experience for the “Ultimate Driving Machine”.
