If you could take a can of gas and matches to $350,000, it would look like the Lamborghini Murcielago that burned to ashes in Brooklyn, New York.  Rumor is that two men stole this luxury car before fleeing, but no explanation has been provided as to its rather heated demise.

Yes, a Lamborghini Murcielago was turned into toast in Brooklyn.  While the Murcielago may be one of the luxury carmaker’s best models to date, it is essentially a matchbox on wheels when up against smoldering flames.  Excited and possibly exaggerated reports are claiming that the exotic car exploded on Rodney Street, which serves as the off-ramp for the BQE’s Metropolitan Avenue exit.  Imagine the inconvenience to the New York population…sigh.

Some reports say that some kids witnessed two men fleeing from the scene just before the Lamborghini exploded, so speculation is that it was a carjack gone awry.  It will certainly be interesting to learn the exact details (should they ever discern them) of what actually went down. 

 I for one would like to think that a luxury car is among the most precious of cargo, and that no one in their right mind would purposely just torch such engineering and creative genius in one fell swoop…but idiots have surprised me before.
