The Limited Edition Lamborghini Balboni Still Impresses

The limited edition Lamborghini Balboni was built in honor of chief test driver Valentino Balboni, and is a sizzling slice of the luxury carmaker’s lineup.  Balboni has spent more time behind the wheel of Lamborghinis than any other human being, having served as the company’s test driver since 1967.  No, we are not jealous at all.

In 1973, Balboni began sitting behind the wheel of all Lamborghini prototypes, such as the Diablo, Murcielago and Gallardo.  In fact, few cars have departed from Sant’Agata without Balboni’s personal stamp of approval.Valentino Balboni and the Lamborghini Balboni

The Balboni Lamborghini is impressive in the specs department, boasting a 5.2-liter V10 engine putting out 550 horsepower.  The power and torque of a Lambo is similar to the classic muscle cars of our history, providing that sizable engine and acoustics that serve as music to the ears.  These are luxury cars for those who prefer the sound of their engines to their car stereos, true fanatics.

The Balboni hits the 0-60 mark in approximately 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 199 miles per hour.
Lamborghini produced just 250 units of the Balboni model, making it a sought-after treasure due to its power and exclusive status.  Each unit was priced around $291,800 with a 9-month wait from order to delivery (sounds like the human reproduction process).  This process did not deter but rather seemed to entice those who had interest in the model.
