Maserati cars are cookie-cutter for the most part. That is not a rude statement, but rather one known to be universally true. Enter the Maserati Alfieri concept. This stunning beauty is an elongated and updated idea of what the future of the brand could provide!
I am trying not to get overly revved up by the extreme dynamics of the Maserati Alfieri because it is still a concept and could emerge from the production line looking exactly like its predecessors. But if you allow that tiny voice inside your head to hold an ounce of hope…imagine seeing this on the streets! It would make a great addition to our fleet of Maserati rentals.
The Maserati Alfieri concept at a glance:
- The Alfieri concept is a 2+2 layout packing.
- The engine comes from the Maserati GranTurismo. It is a 4.7-liter V8 that is clearly riding up front.
- While the Alfieri concept appears super aggressive, it is only putting out 460 horses.
- RWD and MC Shift automated manual transmission with limited slip rear differential.
The Maserati Alfieri concept is a heady blend of its predecessors with an edgy and fresh personality all its own. Park it next to the Maserati Ghibli and remove the badging, and some may never guess they are siblings.
Fun fact: The Alfieri was named for Alfieri Maserati, who founded the company with his four brothers in 1914. That is correct, Maserati turns 100 years old this year! Maserati Head of Design Lorenzo Ramaciotti stated the following about the Alfieri: “The Alfieri is a transition point between 100 glorious years of history and the future that is opening up before us. I sincerely can’t say that we’ll see this car in production in two years, but I’m certain we’ll see something very similar.”
