Most Expensive: The $700,000 Dodge Tomahawk Superbike

Attention motorcycle lovers, for approximately the cost of two supercars (say a Ferrari F430 Spider and a shiny new Aston Martin), you can have one Dodge Tomahawk V10 superbike.

Price estimates range from $500,000 to $700,000.  I am not certain who I believe, as both figures are astronomical for a motor bike, but it did make Business Week’s list of ‘Most Expensive Stuff of 2010”.  So what do you get for over half a million dollars?  Save a bit more and you could have a Bugatti, just sayin.

Don’t worry, you are still getting 4 wheels for your money, the Tomahawk doubles up (pictured in South Beach).2010 Dodge Tomahawk Superbike in Miami  The Dodge Tomahawk superbike boasts an 8.3-liter V10 engine, and it bursts from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds flat with a top speed of around 300 miles per hour.   The 2010 Dodge Tomahawk puts out around 500 horsepower.

I do not like the odds in the event of an accident.  Really, who needs the option to go 300 miles per hour on a motorcycle?  I smell road pizza.   Some reports claim it can get close to 400 miles per hour…who test-drove it?  Anyone know?

The extra wheels are not for vanity, they are actually necessary due to the weight and sheer power of the superbike.  Engineers had to work hard to develop an independent suspension system to maintain the motorcycle appearance for this beasty meaty engine.
