The Peugeot EX1 is much more than just an electric car—it is the official fastest one to hit the Nurburgring! The spicy EX1 nailed the famous 12-mile loop with an impressive time of 9 minutes and 1.338 seconds, averaging 85.9 miles per hour.

The auto world seemed to cringe when the Prius, Nissan Leaf and other vanity versions began to emerge onto the market. Things have begun to change with the exciting addition of luxury hybrids and improvements in green technology. After all, why sacrifice power for a green ego when you can have both?

While Peugeot seems to have backed-up all of the bragging it has done on the futuristic and sleek hybrid EX1 car, the idea of a racing-inspired electric car still seems a bit out there. The EX1 did, however, successfully stomp the former electric car’s time on the ring by a full 50 seconds– so imagine what the future could bring.
