With all the headlines about young sailor Abby Sunderland recently while attempting to win the title as the youngest female sailor to circumnavigate the globe, it will certainly be a treat for those attending the Sydney International Boat Show, as Jessica Watson is making an appearance. 

Jessica Watson holds the record as the youngest person to sail around the world solo, completing her trip before the ripe old age of 17.  Recently, Abby Sunderland was attempting to compete with this record, but ran into some snags and was thankfully rescued. 

Yes, amateur sailors, boaters, luxury yachts and yacht owners from around the world will be gathering for the Sydney show, a nautical lover’s paradise.  And it is to be held at Darling Harbor, how cute is that?

The Sydney show attracts crowds of around 75,000 people, busting about the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Center, all aching to see the latest vessels from mega yachts to jet skis, speedboats to kayaks and dinghies.  All types of watercraft and watercraft accessories can be found here, as well as a good time to mingle with like minds.

Running from July 29th to August 2nd, the event will offer visitors the chance to view the latest sailing technology and see vessels of all types.

But as I said, other than the swanky vessels and their counterparts, Jessica Watson is expected to be the main attraction.  The 16-year old from Queensland completed her solo trip circumnavigating the globe earlier this year, and Abby was just on the tailwinds of claiming her prize.  Jessica will appear in the Better Boating Lounge and deliver a speech.
