What to do with a 2,000 Horsepower Lamborghini

When you have loads of money to dump into tuning a supercar, you hire the likes of Underground Racing. Check out this Lamborghini Gallardo tuned to produce an astonishing 2,000 horses tackle a variety of high-performance tuned competitors on the track. Yes, a 2,000 horsepower Lamborghini Gallardo…awesome.

The Juke R has been taking on supercars and sometimes winning. The unlikely little beast has been a surprise in the circuit.

The only model the tuned Lamborghini Gallardo did not conquer was the Nissan GT-R MK.1. While the Nissan only had 1,200, it still managed to come out on top. I say ‘only 1,200’ when the fastest production car, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, packs the same amount!

The best quarter mile time for the hyper-tweaked Lamborghini was 10.293 and the mile was 23.479 at 230 miles per hour. It is mind-boggling how much output Underground Racing achieved with this car. It must be packing insane twin turbochargers coupled with racing fuel and some secrets.

As you can see by the Lambo’s loss to the Nissan GT-R MK.1, more horses do not exactly spell out a secure win. Massive turbo can mean a bit of lag, something the Nissan did not struggle with. The components of the tuned Lamborghini may not even fully spool until the quarter mile point, leaving plenty of time for competition to win that stretch.

In the clip from Drag Times, the enhanced Lamborghini Gallardo took on the following cars in the following order:

  • Nissan GT-R MK.2 Altechno A1 with 1,200 horses
  • Nissan GT-R MK.1 DT 1200 R (Lambo lost)
  • Nissan Juke R by Shpilki vili engineering with 700 horses
  • Stock Shelby Mustang GT500 with 667 horses. It was painful to wait for the Mustang to cross the finish line so long after the Lamborghini…
  • The last race was with a Nissan GT-R MK.2 Sportek Stage 2 packing just 580 horses. This clip should have been titled “A tuned Lamborghini races a bunch of Nissans and a Mustang”.
