The Aston Martin DB9 has been a favorite since its introduction in 2004. It was the successor to the DB7, and the Virage was unsuccessful at taking over its throne. Now the 2014 Aston Martin DB9 is rolling out, and keeping up with the times.
This 2014 DB9 is for sale in Naples, Florida
For the 2014 model year, the DB9 will be offered in both coupe and convertible forms. They will pack the same 6.0-liter V12 engine, and it is not easy on the fuel intake. EPA estimates are 13 mph city and 19 highway. Those figures are not typically a deterrent for a DB9 owner. The lure lies in the 510 horses and the sheer satisfaction of riding in one of the world’s best grand touring cars.
Drivers love the 6-speed paddle shifter and smooth ZF automatic transmission option. With the press of a pedal, the new Aston Martin DB9 will catapult from 0-60 miles per hour in about 4.6 seconds with top speeds reaching 186 miles per hour.
The marquee anticipated everything this time around—making carbon ceramic brakes standard. This feature is necessary if the desire to unleash the beast on the track arises.
Inside the cabin
The interior provides ample space for the front passengers and a set of vestigial seats in the rear. Should buyers opt for the sport seat package, the vestigials will be removed. The rear seating options are undersized, as is typical of luxury carmakers, so the space is best used for storage.
Features carrying over from the 2013 model year include the navigation system, rearview camera, automatic headlamps, LCD touchscreen and crystal tipped key fob. To take things up a notch, there is an available Bang & Olufsen 1000-watt audio system and optional carbon fiber package with gorgeous trims.
The 2014 Aston Martin DB9 will start at $185,400 plus $2,825 delivery fee. Additional upgrades will, of course, bump that up considerably.
