2014 Pagani Huayra: One of the Most Expensive Supercars

Pagani supercars are an elite stock. Founded in 1992 by Horacio Pagani, Pagani Automobili S.p.A is an Italian supercar making machine of epic proportions. Based near Modena, Italy, they are best known for the Pagani Zonda fleet. Rolling out now is the next generation: the 2014 Pagani Huayra. It is intended to take over the slot previously filled by the Zonda, adding the needed power and performance to compete in the ever-accelerating hypercar arena.

The Pagani Huayra is named for the Peruvian God of wind, which is a good indication that it is fast as well as a nod to Horacio’s Argentinian heritage. Enough about the history, let’s get down to specs.

The 2014 Pagani Huayra at a glance:

  • This model is packing in the power department with a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 M158.
  • The engine is a hand-built Mercedes-Benz AMG and kicks out an amazing 730 horses.
  • 7-speed sequential cross transmission. AMT robotic system with various driving programs.
  • Displacement is 5,980 cc.
  • Torque: 1,000 Nm (740 lb-ft) at 2250-4500 rpm.
  • The Huayra nails the 0-60 mile per hour marker in 3 seconds, keeping it on par with leading supercars like Ferrari and Lamborghini.
  • Top speed for the new member of the Pagani family is an estimated 220 miles per hour.

Pagani first introduced the Huayra at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. The Pagani Huayra can be yours for around $1.3 million, if you are able to get on the very short list of 40 units per year.
