I love to read your luxury blog before I start my day at the office every morning! I live in New York, and because I work so much, I often take my family on long weekend escapes to squeeze in some quality time with them. Next month I plan to take them to Miami and South Beach for some fun in the sun.
What hotels do you recommend for a large family to stay in? I will be bringing my wife, two kids and also my parents. I would like to position ourselves to where we can walk to the beach and a variety of exotic restaurants.
Also, since I am traveling with six people, what type of SUV rental do you recommend? I can’t see myself renting a van in luxurious South Beach.

To answer your inquiry, Miami and South Beach do have certain hotels and areas that are family-friendly, and the one we are going to recommend to you is also within walking distance to many upscale dining and shopping options, and right on the beach. The suggestion we will make for a luxury hotel South Beach is the Setai.
The Setai is known for its privacy standards and for its position in the heart of South Beach, but with a secluded feel as soon as you enter. In fact, once you arrive, you are immediately taken to your room, where you are checked-in in private, rather than standing at a front desk with your luggage and family waiting. There are 2 and 4 bedroom suites at Setai, we recommend a Setai 4 bedroom suite, as you will have a party of six and there will be plenty of space to relax and soak in the sublime Eastern-inspired atmosphere.
Amenities in your suite include beautiful floor to ceiling windows, individually controlled air conditioning for each room, oversized private balconies, granite flooring and double sink space in bathrooms, separate rain showers, subzero and Miele kitchen appliances, whirlpool tubs, washer and dryer units and of course flat screen televisions with cable. As for the hotel amenities, there is of course 24-hour concierge service for your comfort and a 24-hour security staff. The Setai spa is among the best in South Beach, offering the full array of services and treatments. There is also a fitness center with all the latest equipment.
Now for the wheels. You can still be a family man, and drive the vehicle of your choice, no mini-vans here! We recommend a Cadillac Escalade rental, as it can comfortably seat your entire brood, and entertain them with LCD televisions! You will find the entertainment amenities priceless if you happen to get stuck in some South Florida traffic, as the kiddies will not even be aware of it. Not an Escalade fan?
