However, I am a little hesitant to carry through with the rental process until I fully understand what it entails. Can you please walk me through the rental process and explain what information you would need from me. We are glad to hear you found a vehicle that suits your needs from the website. The rental process is extremely simple and there are no hidden fees. We will explain the rental process shortly but feel free to call or e-mail us with any further questions you might have.
For the BMW X5, the daily rental rate is $395. On top of the daily rental rate, our Chicago location has an 18% tax (12% state, 6% county) that will be added on with each day of the rental. We can, and have in the past; implement discounts on multiple day and week long rentals. Once you decide to go ahead with the rental an application will be e-mailed to you requesting basic information. Information such as pick up time and date, pick up location, driver’s license number, insurance policy number, and finally a credit card to secure the reservation. Once we receive the filled out rental application, you will be all set until the date of the vehicle pick up.
On the day of the pick up, you will need to bring in a copy of your driver’s license, a copy of your insurance card, and the credit card used to book the reservation. Photocopies will be made of all three cards for our records. Depending on the vehicle you rent, there is also a security deposit that will be authorized to your credit or debit card. With an authorization, nothing is actually charged to your account we just lock up the funds and they are released within 5-7 days. The only way we would keep the funds longer is if your rental duration is longer than 5-7 days. The rental will include 75 or 100 free miles, depending on make and model. You can pre-buy miles at a discount if you have a long trip planned as well. There are standard charges for any mileage overages that you might incur. Once you bring the vehicle back in the same condition as when it left, your rental agreement will be finalized and at that point all we can hope for is that you enjoyed your experience with our luxury rental car.
