Word is that an improperly placed hose clamp within the Karma’s battery compartment can create a coolant leak and in turn, a fire hazard. This discovery led the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to warn Fisker, which, of course, resulted in a recall of the hot hybrid cars. Now the company is showing good karma by working to replace the high-voltage batteries in all of the cars.

This luxury car recall effects Fisker vehicles made between July 1st and November 3rd, 2011. Shockingly, Fisker is already nearly complete with the entire recall, and according to Henrik Fisker, CEO:
“We will always react quickly to ensure the safety and quality of our cars. We decided that the immediate replacement of the battery pack in every vehicle was the right approach for all our customers.”
Fisker was fast about taking the wheel on this issue
Fisker displays great form during crisis, important for a distinguished carmaker. The Karma was named ‘Luxury Car of the Year’ by BBC Top Gear magazine as well as ‘Car of the Year’ by the TV show’s presenter, James May in November, and it is easy to see why!
