Eminem Endorses Chrysler 200 Luxury Car via Super Bowl Commercial
Chrysler and a few other standard automakers have been working hard to be viewed in a more luxurious light, as luxury car brands. Case in point: Chrysler shelled out approximately $9 million dollars for celebrity Eminem to endorse the 2011 Chrysler 200 via a Super Bowl ad.
In the two-minute ad, Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ barely plays in the background, and the star highlights how Detroit is the ‘Motor City’. The 2011 Chrysler 200 sedan is being positioned as a luxury car, and the Super Bowl ad was likely a smart choice for the brand, with its insanely high volume of viewers. I just have to scratch my head at the choice of celebrity endorsements…because Em hasn’t exactly been around for a minute, but I suppose he does hail from the motor city and hold a large following. And since when does Eminem do endorsements (at least I cannot recall any)? Has he lost himself, perhaps?
The Chrysler 200 convertible version is set to arrive just in time for spring, with a price tag of around $27,195 base and $31,990 for the Limited. A third model, the 200 convertible S, will be priced later in the year.
