The Jaguar XK models will soon be a distant memory. As production draws to a close for the luxury models, buyers will have to joust for the last remaining ones–dubbed the ‘Jaguar XK Final Fifty Limited Edition’ fleet. As the name implies, there will be just 50 units produced, half of them coupe and half of the convertible variety.
The Jaguar XK models will no longer be offered in the U.S. To mark the departure, the Jaguar XK Final Fifty Limited Edition fleet will be sold.
The Final Fifty Jaguar XK made an appearance at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
But is the Jaguar XK Final Fifty deal a simple marketing ploy to unload the last units? That is not likely due to the added power playing into the equation. The name of the model does not communicate that it will boast 510 horses via a V8 from the XKR. All the best performance pieces from the XKR, XKR-S and XKR-S GT will be integrated into the farewell fleet. Expect the Dynamic and Performance Packs and plenty of add-ons. The 5.0-liter V8 with Active Exhaust will provide just the right blend of prestige and performance.
Aside from the power increase, the Jaguar XK farewell fleet has features to distinguish it from the pack.
The drop-top Jaguar XK Final Fifty cars will have black tops. It is unclear at this point how much input customers will receive in the area of customization. The collection is expected to go into production at any time and should begin appearing in dealerships across the United States by the fall, which indicates that they are not all spoken for. This is a rarity, as most special edition limited fleets are pre-sold.
