We have mentioned Lamborghini tractors in the past, as they marked the beginning of the iconic supercar brand’s history. Lamborghini produced quality tractors before entering into the automobile arena–an aspect of the brand that some may not be aware of. The Raging Bull has recently surprised the world by announcing the introduction of its ferocious fielders in India.
Lamborghini tractors will be rolling out in India. Could they be coming to a field near you in the future? Pictured above is the 2013 Lamborghini Nitro tractor, a more high-performance beast than the models released in India. (see video at bottom of post).
The Lamborghini tractors have been owned and produced by SDF in their Ranipet plant since 1973. The business has been mostly export, and slapping the Lambo badge back on them should help sales in the burgeoning Indian luxury market segment. SDF also produces the popular Deutz-Fahr brand tractor and enjoys a successful enterprise.
The brand will launch the tractor line at the Kisan agri exhibition on December 12th, 2013, where it will field prospects. The heads behind the scenes likely envision Lamborghini tractors gracing golf courses, stadiums, high-end hotels and resorts and the lawns of the well-heeled in the very near future.
Fun fact: Jay Leno got his hands on an old Lamborghini tractor in an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage.
It will certainly be interesting to see if the tractors mow over the competition or if the pricing will simply be too high. Will the next generation of Lamborghini supercars come with a complimentary Lamborghini tractor (think back to the Aston Martin Cygnet)? It seems like a better deal than the usual set of luggage some exotic brands use to entice buyers…as if many sports cars have trunk space!
