The Marussia B2 is the 2nd attempt at a supercar from the brand. The B2 is a sibling to the B1, which was not only Marussia’s first supercar, but Russia’s as well. The marquee is obviously faring well in marketing terms, as all 500 units of the B2 were ordered almost immediately!
Marussia makes road monsters!
The B2 Marussia incorporates all of the hyper technology of its predecessor, encased in a more aggressive and powerful body. Starting at just $130,460, a B2 is certainly among the more affordable exotics, with a new Ferrari hitting around the $200,000 and up marker. You can always rent a Ferrari for far less, but it may be a while before a Marussia rental is available.
Let’s get down to specs: the B2 boasts the option of either a 2.8-liter V6 turbo or a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6. It destroys the 0-60 sprint in an impressive 3.2 seconds, topping out around 190 miles per hour thanks to 300-420 horses.
Marussia integrates seamless technology
According to the company,
“The B2 is an overt expression of our capabilities and ambition. Using the same exceptionally light and strong chassis structure combined with Marussia-Cosworth power units, the B2 allows our designers and our customers to explore their wilder side.”
Track worthy and fresh…a welcome addition to the supercar ranks?
With their product in such high demand, Marussia has even moved production operations from Moscow to Finland, at Valmet (the firm producing the B2). Valmet also produces the Fisker Karma luxury hybrid. Is there a B3 in the making? Why stop when so much success has been achieved!
