It is rare to see a Lamborghini Murcielago in most daily situations, but it is quite bizarre to see one with a job at a local fire department! Meet the “Rapid Response Unit”…a supercar packing a 6.5-liter V12 and producing 600 horses in order to arrive first-on-scene at any emergency! In any event, a Lamborghini is likely to smoke any vehicle en route, but this one is unique and special—like the Italian Lambo police cruiser (which was ultimately crashed!). If you have never rented a Lamborghini, do it this weekend and tell us if you think it is suitable to serve as a volunteer vehicle!
This member of the fire department’s fleet burns hot!
The Murc is even fitted with emergency lights on its sleek roof and official GFCD badging. She was built by Martino Auto Concepts in Glen Cove, New York and is touted as the world’s only Lamborghini rapid response unit—certainly an irresistible bragging right! The super-fire-engine was a creative way to ring in the department’s 175th year of service to the community.
With the potential and likelihood of so many firemen vying to get behind the wheel of this Lambo, a crash is quite likely…in my opinion! I hope the department opts for a supercar handling course before the new toy is destroyed. At least they will have plenty of trucks nearby to douse the flames if anyone loses control of all of those horses!
