Mondrian SoHo Opens Haute Manhattan Location

Mondrian Hotel SoHo

Imagine Lifestyles Luxury Rentals has recently been informed of a new Mondrian luxury hotel opening in downtown Manhattan.  The Mondrian SoHo, Morgan’s Hotel Group’s third Mondrian and debut hotel property in downtown Manhattan selected visionary Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, who dazzled on the Mondrian Los Angeles redesign, to work with an in-house design team for the location.  Yes, the exotic car rentals NY will now have a new valet to tip, and a new luxury hotel to explore.

Mondrian Hotel Manhattan

This new location joins the many other luxury Mondrian Hotels, and is sure to impress.  The Mondrian SoHo draws inspiration from Jean Coucteu’s 1946 romantic French fantasy film “La Belle et la Bete”, with a pale blue color palette unifying the overall design cues.  Other striking design features include lavish rose vine carpeting leading to jewel-box style guest rooms with oversized mirrors, 10-foot ceilings and dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the sweeping city views.

In fact, the rooms are intentionally void of wall art, allowing the windows to provide live art from the city below.  The Mondrian SoHo boasts 270 luxuriously appointed guest rooms, and each feature a terrace.

All Mondrian SoHo rooms include:

·  iPad with virtual concierge program for one-touch access to hotel services including in-room dining, housekeeping, wake-up calls, valet parking/bellman, Internet, hotel information, transportation options, maps and directions.
·  Malin +Goetz amenities – ‘head-to-toe’ daily treatments include a Peppermint Shampoo, Cilantro Hair Conditioner, Bergamot Body Wash, Vitamin b5 body moisturizer and Rum Soap.  Rum soap…is that equivalent to a happy hour shower?
·  Minibar with retro candy selection from Economy Candy, Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, River Keeper Water, and an intimacy kit (nice!).  I did re-read the email twice to ensure that it said “Pabst Blue Ribbon”…which is not exactly a luxury beer, but hey.

This minor oversight may be made up for with the presence of Chef Sam Talbot’s seafood restaurant, Imperial No. Nine.  This Manhattan restaurant creates a garden inspired feel, with a glass ceiling, crystal chandeliers, manicured plants, ficus trees and a colossal hand-blown glass sculpture by acclaimed artist Beth Lipman.  No reviews yet on the cuisine.
