The 2009 Pebble Beach Concours has offered up another refreshing surprise in addition to the Bentley Mulsanne, the Porsche Panamera luxury sedan. The 2010 Porsche Panamera is rumored to be the most important new addition to the line of luxury rides in recent years, with qualities that appeal to the masses.
Arriving in style in the cargo hold of a 747 jet from Leipzig Germany, the diminutive bullet measures less than 200 inches in length, and weighs in at approximately 4,000 pounds, yet it transports four adults in comfortable luxury. The Porsche Panamera 2010 is a balanced and expertly engineered example of the icon’s craftsmanship and dedication to tradition. Featuring a balanced chassis, a choice of standard or turbocharged V-8 engines, optional all wheel drive and either a six-speed manual or seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission this Porsche handles impeccably and looks fantastic doing it.
Luxury car enthusiast Jay Leno gave the Porsche Panamera a nod at its Pebble Beach debut over the weekend. Porsche is currently developing a V6 version of the Panamera, as well as a hybrid, leaving some to wonder if they have lost their independence to VW. Opinions on the matter will vary, and it will be interesting to see what Porsche presents next. Until then, you can check out our selection of exotic Porsche rentals and give yourself a fix.
