The 2009 Palm Beach Cavallino Classic. Ferrari, Ferrari and more Ferrari’s

The Palm Beach Cavallino Classic is a highly regarded automotive event that sits in first-class company with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Louis Vuitton Concours d’Elegance, the Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza, and the Concorso Italiano. The Cavallino Classic is also considered to be the premier Ferrari event in the nation. The year is brand new but the 2009 Cavallino Classic is already over with January. The 18th Classic came to pass once again from the famed Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida. We never mentioned the Cavallino Classic, well, because its just not for everyone and the events are private affairs. Having said that, we were there and have some highlights to share. The Breakers Resort was covered in Ferrari supercars galore; from futuristic to classic and racetrack worthy, all on display.  We first found a yellow, Ferrari FXX Enzo racecar.

To the Ferrari ignorant, FXX Ferrari’s are not homologated for road use and have no plans to be. The FXX prototype was designed exclusively for track driving as part of a specific Ferrari Research and Development program. And this specific R&D program focuses on the further improvement of Ferrari’s handling and performance.

In terms of driveability we appreciated another yellow Ferrari. A yellow, Ferrari special edition F430 Spider Scuderia. The Ferrari F430 Spider Scuderia is a lightweight drop-top version of the inspiring track-ready 430 Scuderia. The differences? Other than no roof, it has a special stripe down the middle and comes with an iPod Touch. And what’s the point? There is no point, the F430 Spider Scuderia was made for the ultimate Ferrari collector, it’s a limited edition Ferrari. Think high eights to a million dollars to own, only a few ever get made and they all always sell out.

Basically we saw every Ferrari ever at this year’s Cavallinio Classic, enough to make any horse prancer wet. While we love us some Ferrari, the Classic wasn’t all Ferrari. Other upscale marques such as Maserati, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini and even Saleen came to show. Click here to see the 18th Palm Beach Cavallino Classic plus more from Imagine Lifestyles.
