Video: Underground Racing Lamborghini Gallardo Beats Own Record Again

Check out this footage of another Underground Racing Lamborghini Gallardo beating the record for a half-mile sprint. The previous record was held by a different Lamborghini Gallardo, also tuned by Underground, which was taken from another before that. Does anyone notice a badass pattern developing here? Reputations for outstanding aftermarket tuning do not just form, they catapult over asphalt.

The clip above shows the 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP-570 Superleggera breaking the previous record with a rather throaty run of 233.88 miles per blistering hour.

The driver of the tuned Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera was KC Howeth and the record smash occurred at a WannaGoFast event in Florida recently. He took the beast up to 233.88 miles per hour while the crowd looked on and teammates timed the endeavor. The previous record was a run of 224 miles per hour and the one prior to that was a mere 217 miles per hour. Cleary, this Superleggera has what it takes in the tuning department.

The boys at Underground Racing, located in trendy Charlotte, North Carolina, kicked the 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP-570 Superleggera up a few horses for a client. Enhancements include a completely custom twin-turbo system and all of the necessities to make her purr like a deranged lion on hallucinogens in the presence of stimuli. The video was captured from several angles and includes some GoPro footage. GoPro cameras are being used in an increasing amount of ways, and its use in the automotive industry has been so amazing, capturing rarely seen angles and moments all while remaining safely hands-free and focused.

Underground Racing Lamborghini GallardoThe moral of the story is that Underground Racing simply rocks at what they do and we look forward to seeing what they have gearing up for the future, including any hybrid hype.
