The good people at Lamborghini are perhaps a bit on the modest side for being creators of world-class hypercars! When the new Lamborghini Aventador was officially unveiled, the company claimed the top speed was 217 miles per hour, though the car recently outdid itself during a scorching lap at Hockenheim, hitting an astonishing 230 mph! The awesome lap occurred during a testing session including Sport Auto, a German automotive magazine. It is always a great track day when you get your hands on an exotic car like the award-winning Aventador, but it hits an entirely new level when you then smash its own speed record, very cool! This model packs a powerful 6.5-liter V12 engine producing 700 horsepower and a 0-60 sprint of 2.9 seconds.

The car hits 230 mph during the last few seconds of the video, but the first few minutes include delicious close-ups and various angles of the Aventador. It has been said that this Lamborghini is far ahead of its time, and it has won many accolades already, leaving the competition grasping for a new advantage.
