May 21st will mark the official start of the Chicago Summer Festival Season as Mayfest begins in Lakeview.   Head on out to the intersection of Ashland and Barry on Friday at 6 P.M. to enjoy one of the cities’ premiere outdoor events of the summer.  

For the past 16 years, organizers have entertained thousands of Chicagoans with great music, wonderful food and beer, and plenty of activities for the whole family.  Head straight to the giant white tent upon arrival and grab a spot in front of the huge music stage that will be rocking all weekend.  Local favorites Mike and Joe, Too White Crew, and Hairbanger’s Ball are a few of the headliners for this year’s event.

The festival truly will cater to anyone’s desire, offering a Kids’ Day America on Saturday and a pet parade on Sunday.  The festival grounds will become a giant outdoor playground for kids and the big stage will be offering various children themed acts.  Bring out your dog on Sunday for the parade then sign up your pet for the fashion show or the pet trick contest.  

Get the summer season started right and head out to Lakeview this weekend for Mayfest.  The forecast is calling for blue skies and sunshine so come on out and enjoy some live music with friends and family.
