The Zenvo ST1 is not as well-known as it should be. The prototype of the Danish startup Zenvo unleashes more horses than most, and it is a direct challenge to the likes of Pagani and Koenigsegg. While it is new on the scene, the Zenvo ST1 is certainly setting a new standard for supercar startups.
The first 3 Zenvo ST1 units made will offer even more horses when they hit the stables Stateside. They are special editions, and the rest of the production run will be regular.
The production version of the Zenvo ST1 was revealed at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show. The specs are impressive for a newcomer on the scene, including the following highlights:
- It is packing a bespoke 7.0-liter V8 monster with both supercharging and turbocharging. This enables it to unleash a staggering 1,104 horses, just 96 less than the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.
- Power goes to the rear via a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed sequential with paddles. The option of having a manual sports car may become increasingly rare as some major manufacturers are doing away with it.
- The steel chassis does nothing for the 3,000 curb weight
- The Zenvo supercar can nail the 0-60 jump in 3.0 seconds with a top speed of 233 miles per hour. The top speed will be electronically limited due to liability purposes. That seems a touch strange, because the Bugatti Veyron SS was limited to a speed even higher.
Fans of the new company and its very first creation, the Zenvo ST1, can rejoice in the news that it was created to be sold Stateside. The first 3 to arrive are to be named the Zenvo ST1 50S and will offer 1,250 horses. Buyers can expect to shell out more than a million to own the boutique supercar and for their friends to want to reserve some track time.
